Hey Dr. LeClair, my humble opinion is that you keep the number out of 100 and then tack 5 points on that. The option of 5/6 will drop a lot of people's grades by a large portion. (13 points here!) That can't be good for the class average and everyone should be happy if you do a combination of both solutions, right!?!
I will probably do it this way, it turned out just grading it out of 100 benefits everyone the most.
